About Perry Greene

Perry Clarke Greene is the President of Taylor Commercial, Inc., one of the largest siding contractors in the United States. His company operates across the Southeastern region, serving major markets with large-scale construction and renovation projects. Taylor Commercial has completed over 25 renovations of low-income housing and condominium communities.

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Perry Greene spent his earliest years in Athens, where his father served as a Church of Christ campus minister. The family moved often, from Memphis to Escondido, California, then to Gainesville, Florida, and finally to Riverdale, Georgia, by the time Perry was in eighth grade.

While his surroundings shifted, Perry’s mindset didn’t. Even as a child, he was motivated by a desire to rise above the challenges of growing up in difficult circumstances. That ambition soon fueled an early dive into work, responsibility, and discipline.

By age 9, Perry was already cutting lawns and collecting cans for cash. At 12, he helped his family deliver 500 newspapers every morning before school. For the driven young man, these tasks weren’t chores‒they were his path to earning money for clothes and sports equipment.

When most teens were just beginning to think about jobs, Perry was already working under the leadership of Truett Cathy, helping open the first Chick-fil-A Dwarf House in Riverdale and Jonesboro at age 15.

Like all children, Perry received his share of discipline. But while other kids sat in time-out, Perry was studying how to build wealth. When grounded, he was handed books on rental properties or sales tactics, fueling his later desire for personal growth, sales mastery, and financial independence.

A talented baseball player, Perry Greene earned All-State and All-Region honors at Riverdale High School. He then took an unusual detour, diving into two years of accounting classes.

After high school, he played college ball at Southern Union Junior College. But the pro dream dimmed, and a stronger one emerged: attending the University of Georgia. Without the funds to enroll, Perry joined the Navy Reserve, which sent him to Hawaii and Thailand during his service.

Perry eventually earned a scholarship to Harding University before transferring to UGA in 1993, graduating in 1996 with a degree in Accounting. That same year, he passed the CPA exam and joined Ernst & Young.

Perry married Marjorie Taylor while in college in 1995. His career subsequently took a sharp turn in 1998 when he joined Taylor Construction, the family business owned by his father-in-law. He quickly rose from salesperson to top salesperson to general manager in just six months.

In 1999, he helped sell that business and moved to its sister company, Taylor Commercial, Inc., which focused on siding installations for apartment developments. With Perry at the helm, revenue soared from $600,000 to over $45 million annually.

Perry learned not just from experience but also from the wisdom he drew from seasoned salespeople and classic sales literature. The company expanded into ten states and completed over 25 renovation projects in low-income and condo housing communities, as well as siding on hundreds of apartment complexes.
